France braced for Serbian fightback

France captain Guy Forget is taking nothing for granted against Serbia despite his side going into Sunday's decisive Davis Cup final singles rubbers against the hosts with a 2-1 lead.

An epic comeback win by Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra in Saturday's doubles against Nenad Zimonjic and Viktor Troicki put France in the driving seat as they seek a 10th title.

However, with Gael Monfils up against Serbia's world number three Novak Djokovic in Sunday's opening match, the hosts still have genuine hopes of winning the trophy for the first time.

"We're up 2-1, but it's far from over," Forget said. "I mean Serbia were down 2-1 in the semis against the Czech Republic.

"I guess probably the captain is going to tell Novak and his boys tonight that the same thing could happen again, and it could very well do. At the moment we are on plan though."

Djokovic must beat Monfils to keep the final alive and it has all the makings of a great match, according to Forget.

"My concern is to get Gael fit and motivated for tomorrow," he told reporters. "Gael is ready for his first match against Novak. I think that is going to be an unbelievable match because both of them are playing really well.

"They're great competitors. Both of them are pretty fresh because they haven't played doubles."

Should Djokovic win, the destiny of the 98th Davis Cup will be decided in the fifth rubber which will probably be between Janko Tipsarevic and France's Gilles Simon.

"We are ready to fight tomorrow," Serbia captain Bogdan Obradovic said. "We have two more matches, and we will give our best effort tomorrow. We will try to win."
