I'm certain that I have this admiration for the body of work Susan Orlean has produced because we share the fascination of meeting strangers... then logging the encounter in some way or form (she writes short stories, I log the brief dialogue and or take portraits). We like to see every wrinkle and spot on strangers, and we go out of our way to do it.
